To enrich their learning experiences, many of the classes in both schools go on several trips throughout the year. In the Junior School, KG2 visit several worship centres as part of their education into different faiths and the Junior 2 class take an excursion to Thalangama Lake to learn more about birds. There are also trips to the zoo, streams, a plastic factory and specialised laboratories for dissection experiments.
In the Summer Term, the younger students from the Senior School visit Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura, where they learn more about the ancient capital cities of Sri Lanka. Students in Form 1 – Form 3 study Sri Lankan History in the final term of each of these years so the trip provides a fantastic opportunity for them to appreciate the cultural heritage of the country they live in.
For students in Form 1 – Form 3, there are Science and Geography trips each year. Recent trips have been to the Ranweli Eco-Resort which is an ideal location to learn about local ecosystems and the Brandix factory. With its diverse landscape Sri Lanka offers so much variety for students studying Geography case studies and Biology for IGCSE and A Level. The Sinharaja Rainforest and Kalutara are popular destinations for the school, with both destinations providing secure accommodation for boys, girls and teachers.
