Pupil Progress The progress of each student at Elizabeth Moir School is monitored very carefully. Small class sizes certainly help teachers identify if the effort of individual students is diminishing and the special attention provided by the school is often enough to prevent a serious decline in performance over a lengthy period.
At the Junior School, parents receive feedback about their children twice a term, once at Open Day and once via Report, and Junior 1 – Junior 5 students sit internal exams twice a year. In the Senior School, effort grades are recorded three times during a term and students sit papers for their mid-term and end-of-term grades.
In addition to the regular Open Days and Parents’ Evenings, Elizabeth Moir School is committed to providing parents with detailed reports at the end of each term. Parents receive personal comments from all the relevant Subject Teachers, their Class Teacher and the Head of School.
There is tremendous co-operation between all teachers in both schools, with regular meetings scheduled to discuss the progress of all students in a class. If there are concerns about certain individuals, strategies are implemented to address a potential problem. |
