EFL
With 27 countries represented in our school, it is not expected that English will be every student’s first language. English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes are provided for students whose English is not proficient when they enter school.
At the Junior School, EFL students receive plenty of support and integrate very quickly into mainstream classes. Students in the Senior School who join the EFL programme as beginners study Mathematics with their Form and have EFL lessons at all other times. Students are entered for other classes (normally Science) as they begin to make the transition to mainstream classes.
English Grammar lessons are offered for students who have poor written English. Curriculum Support is provided for students who are struggling in a particular subject or have missed work having joined the school late.
